16k!!!  wow thats expensive! I'll scrap that idea ;D

we have a little industry of guys marinising these in our part of the world.

about $8000nzd or $7200AUD will get you a fully set-up engine with heat exchanger, progammable ecu, alloy cast exhaust manifolds, drive adpator, engine mounts etc etc ready to bolt in.. these are ex japan donor motors but all seals, cam belts etc are changed. usually less than 60,00km's.  or motor right out of car can be bought readily for $1500nzd or about $1800aud in aust.

Okay, let me get this straight...

You guys have exhaust manifolds. You've got ECU's. You've got bell housing/drive adapters. You've got water pumps.

And marinized alternators and starters are "off-the-shelf"?

This could turn out to be a good Monday after all!!!!

jordy i have the contact details for a guy in NZ (he is the link ecu agent..) who marinises heaps of lexus v8's. I do believe however he has the map for the vvt engine.. charges about $60 to program the ecu with it.  also if you want a map for a m90 s/c lexus let me know..(set this up with oxy sensor to 12:1....) Have heard of one guy melting his vvt engine already due to "playing with" or not understanding tune etc..

gr8dna.

alloy exhaust manifolds (700nzd) and high risers (600nzd) are off the shelf from australia or nz

Link ECU, programmed, wired, and complete wire loom to dash off the shelf from NZ or aus ($1190nzd ecu only)

Bell housings and drive plate adapters off shelf from NZ (ski boat stuff do not know about, we connect to jets)

lets see your dollar buys 35% more in NZ and you would also avoid 12.5% tax and in aust your dollar buys 25% more and avoid 10% tax.. plus shipping

we do not run marine alt or starters..

if you are keen i can get you a contact for all above...

Jordy, that setup is awesome as-is, and will be amazing when you get boost!!!

Tried twice last night to post, and failed both times.

You guys from Lextreme in Australia and New Zealand have just closed the door on three of my biggest concerns:

1) replacement exhaust manifolds - we were faced with maybe having to have them fabricated locally someday. You've made them off-the-shelf items for us :-) !!!

2) replacement ECU hardware - I was sure that the ECU was Toyota specific, and feared that it might be Toyota Marine specific. As it turns out, you guys have been using aftermarket ones for some time. Another major score for Epic longevity.

3) ECU programming - it is fantastic to know that the firmware is not held in some super-secret japanese brain trust. To me the ECU stuff is magic, and I'm so happy that you guys are doing this stuff.

These are three big steps towards keeping our boats serviceable indefinitely (not that Toyotas need service very often, but..)

Jordy and Matthew, you guys are hardcore. I don't understand any of the technical mumbo-jumbo, but then again...I'm a self-proclaimed technical idiot.

Derek - thanks for breaking it down for the short bus to understand!

Good news for us.
