After seeing not one, but TWO Epics on the water this weekend, I came up with an idea.  Pete- your advice needed here....since it is your site.

I figure (and I think all y'all would agree), the more representation we get from Epic owners on this site, the better off all of us will be in the long run.  Plus, it'd be fun to know the others on my lake with Epics (since there are apparently none from Lake WA on this site).  So...

What about getting big (like 24" long) www.epicmarine.com decals made for the sides of our boats?  That way, when people roll by us on the water and wave (but won't stop), they will at least know where to find us?

I'd be stoked to put one on my boat.  But I don't really have any hook-ups in that arena.  Anybody know anybody who would be willing to make us some really cool vinyl decals?  And Pete, are you totally opposed to this?

Actually, I was going to do the same thing.  It's not too hard to do, I'll look for a font that looks something like the Epic script. I saw an Epic on the water a couple of weeks ago, I was wishing that I had some way to turn them on to the site.

I have a friend who owns and runs a decal business.  Once you get your design, I'd be happy to ask him for a proposal/quote.

I can get it done for $25 if we can get about 5 or more orders. I have the font on my puter from refurbishing the original toyota marine logo...

I'd slap one on the side of my SX.

That sounds totally cool. Lakerats, can you email me the font file? It would be nice to have. hiwattnospam@bellsouth.net  Take out nospam, have to do that to keep spambots from getting my email. Not that I'll get fewer Viagra and pee pee enlarger messages. I get at least 50 a day. They must be convinced that I have "issues" in that department!

As far as placement and size, I vote for my stickers to go right between the two mounting points for the tower, on the fiberglass, beneath the windsheild. Does somebody have that measurement?

The bigger the better...

Pete-- I'm still getting the "upload folder is full" message when I try and post a picture. Is there an easy fix to this, or do you have to buy more server space or whatever?

(I'm not only the village idiot of Epic owners, but also when a computer is involved...)

I really want to chip in if more money is involved. Please. Tell me what email address you use for your paypal account.

I totally appreciate it but it is not necessary. The site maintenance fees are really pocket change. I looked tonight and there is tons of space, so there is some other problem with my ISP, I'm working on it. Thanks, I appreciate the support and will keep the site up even if I am homeless and toothless.

Here's the deal. If a guy owns a Toyota boat and is interested in a Epic community (or service, or mods or whatever), he's gonna go to Google. When he does that, he'll find Epicmarine and us thanks to Mr. Psyclone.

Those that haven't done this search are either 1) alone in a moldy cave, or 2) not interested. Really doubt that advertising like this is going to further what Cal's talking about.

Put the sticker on because we're alone against the world, on purpose, smiling (most of) the way. As for me and my neck of the woods, I may see another Epic on one of four lakes sometime in the next ten years. And I figure that if that dude's not an Epicmarine member by then, it's by choice.

This is a good  idea for those of you who might actually see another 'yota,  or to have for someone that is wondering about them after seeing our awesome rigs cruise by be able to get some amazing information, but....

like Derek(only worse), I'm lucky if I see another boat, not just a Toyota, on Moosehead Lake in Maine, so I most likely won't need one!

Just spoke with someone up there this week, and their predicting the ice will be off the lake by next weekend(May 7th or 8th).  Makes ya want to head on up to Maine to do some wakeboarding, doesn't it?

STILL HAVE ICE ??????

My father-in-law just got back from opening Trout day at June Lake, by Mammoth in CA. Seven or eight thousand feet. Fed by glaciers. And completely wakeboard-able TODAY.

Sheash, though, it must be so very cool to not have to deal with the crowds we do.

And I agree -- I wouldn't expect people to all of a sudden start coming to the site because we put decals on our boats.  But, that being said, I don't think everybody is as internet savvy as we are.  And I don't think that any Epic owner would deny to know more about their boats.  I just think of people like my dad: a boat owner who wouldn't even know where to find Google....or even the internet browser on his computer.  The only place he gets info about his boat is through the local dealership.  Epic owners don't have that luxury.

So...

Many wouldn't think to look online for Epic info.  And lot of newbies come to the site (myself included) and say "I just stumbled across the site while surfing"... we might as well eliminate the "surfing" process and just say it, straight up. www.epicmarine.com.

But the real reason I want decals:
they'd look cool.
