That is a deal. That should be the latest version of the tower, which looks the same but has been improved. Worth every penny.

What did they improve, anything different from a 2001 tower?

The old style tower have the half moon flange and a pin to hold the tower. The new one is threaded using 3/8 allen head bolt. less flexing, and brushed aluminum finish.

Wouldnt I need to reinforce my 99 E22 to mount a factory tower?  I thought I remembered hearing that the 99s didnt get the reinforcement and once the 00s came out with the X22, all the DD 22ft hulls got the reinforcement.

I would love a tower, but I dont know if I can shell out 2K for one, even though thats an awesome deal.

I put a factory tower on my E22 a few months back with no boat-related issues at all. Make sure you order the backing plates and test-fit the tower before you drill any holes. Capt. Rick spent 10 minutes on the phone with my boat mechanic and me, and we had it on in less than an hour. Good luck!
