GAS?
« on: April 03, 2004, 23:40:43 pm »
No I have never done it! But I'm having impure thoughts.

However, with gas prices predicted to be outrageous, and premium to be even worse, what really is the reason that our engines need premium. How would it run on mid-octain or regular?.
Would the price difference saved between premium and regular be less than the cost incurred due to decreased fuel economy? What the whole story?

Sorry, just had to ask!

Compression is 10.5:1. Any modern engine that runs at that compression (Land Cruiser is another) needs super.

Look through the archives, and you'll see how sensitive the Epics are to crappy gas.

Has nothing to do with fuel economy.

I have ran mid-octane in mine for four years and i haven't had any problems. The tech told me that was good enough.

Cool, that's where my boat was born. Test drove it on Lake Lewisville. That lake's too cool to be that close to town.
