Should I buy this Epic 22
« on: June 10, 2009, 22:41:03 pm »
I live in Wisconsin, I am looking to buy and resell a 1999 Epic 22 Blue with no boom and 197 hours. (I would like to keep it myself but I cannot afford it). Overall the boat is in great shape with all service records. The gentleman is looking to get 16K for the boat. In this market what do you think I could get for it?

Tough call without seeing the boat.  Towers are important but overall condition will be the primary factor.  Color and graphics also help in eye appeal.  If the boat has been not used and neglected for 10 years, it will be worth far less than something that is in like new condition, serviced regularly, and stored inside during off season.  Would need pictures and more data.  In my opinion that boat in average condition is prob. worth 14-17 thousand and a little iffy for huge investment returns.  Again condition, options, service history and canvas will be huge factors.  I am assuming it includes a trailer in avg. condition as well.  If you are not in the boat retail business or don't have a passion for the boats, I would not reccomend buying any 10 year old boat on speculation.

Thanks for the info! The boat is in fantastic shape as is the trailer, but I think you are right, and definitely in this market which is so uncertain
