How tall is my boat?

I'm building a shop behind my house, and until 5 minutes ago I thought I was locked into a 16x7 foot garage door, but the shop builder just mentioned that I could get up to a 9 foot tall garage door.

I have a 99 Epic 22 with the standard trailer and the factory tower. Anyone know how tall theirs is? Will an 8 foot door do it or do I need to go 9 feet?

Oh yeah, my boat isn't here right now and I need to know by about 6:00 am tomorrow.

I'm guessing but I remember measuring the height of my tow tower to the ground when on the trailer and it's right at 9 ft

Defiantly go with the 9 ft door. When I pull my boat out it passes under a 10' basketball hoop and that tower mounted rope pylon would snag the net if I didn't watch it. You could always raise and lower your tower if you get in a bind, or get stuck with a low door. Remember that not all garage doors pull completely flat and your "nine foot garage" may only leave you with 8' 7'' of clearance. I have a 13' x 15' garage door. It fits purdy good.

9 foot doors are only about $200 more than a 7 foot door. So I went with the 9 foot door. Plus that is less of the front I will have to brick (building code says brick the front to match my house).

I could/would fold my tower, but I have to remove the trampoline bimini to do so. That's a hassle.

you know if its that  big of a hassle, i could take it off and put it on my boat instead

As a hot blonde once told me, there's no such thing as too big.  Go with the 9 footer!  Personally, I intend to give my Epic its own dedicated building.

I ended up getting the 9 foot door. My poor Epic hasn't seen the inside of the shop yet though. I made a nice slot between the shop and the fence where I can slide the Epic in between. It's pretty protected, plus it's under a heavy cover.
