Mobil 1 Tranny fluid
« on: April 07, 2009, 09:19:37 am »
I went to winterize the boat last year and there was no mobile 1 transmission fluid (same as last year) to be found.  They have one that is for multiple uses, but can I trust that stuff.  Has any of you ran into this problem?  I think it is the mercon v.  Correct me if I am wrong.

http://www.epicmarine.com/forum4/epic-forum/who-uses-synthetic-fluids/

This is a thread I started about synthetic/dino oil etc.

If you can't find Mobil 1 ATF around you the Amsoil ATF is quality stuff as well - I plan on using the Amsoil in my Lexus GS  tranny too, I have M1 ATF in the Epic right now.

Around me I can get M1 ATF all over the place - pretty sure even WalMart has it.  I think I got mine at Advanced Auto last time.

I can get it, it is just not mercon.  All the stuff says it is multi use now.  I may have to call them about it.

It looks like they changed the marketing on this, and it meets the Mercon specs.

I find it interesting that they meet the Toyota Type IV now, my old Lexus GS I always ran the toyota spec fluid and was going to use the Amsoil Synthetic ATF on the current one, it looks like this could be an option as well
