Dual batteries in X22?
« on: June 16, 2012, 05:07:58 am »
Anybody out there run a dual battery setup in their x22? Just not finding an optimum place for #2. Could use an idea if any out there.

Thx!

Just an update. I sacrificed some of the space in the front storage compartment. I removed the carpeted divider just in front of the cooler and gained a little xtra room. Looks like I'll have about a 7' positive cable run to the new Perko from batt #2 and bout 4' between the 2 negative posts.

Good boatin' this Summer everyone!

I'd love to know if you still get the low voltage alarms with a dual battery set up. It's a common problem for me, but I'm going to continue to ignore it until someone figures out how to solve the problem.

Would be a good test for sure. Try batt #1, then batt #2 (in my case #2 is new), then try the setting for both batts simultaneously. Could check voltage results across the 3 different Perko settings. Thankfully I've not seen any indication of the low voltage issue, so can't really opine. I just needed the 2nd batt for the stereo and piece of mind really. Fig'd I was playing with fire by not having 2 and I never really trusted the jump box I hauled around at the lake. I was however able to rescue a couple stranded boaters with it which made it worth while.
