I have been on here for about a year reading up on Epics and searching all over the web for one and even had the infamous sinker checked out as im sure many of you have read. I was ready to give up my search and buy a 2005 ish centurion this year and just get on the water and enjoy myself when it happened! Tim listed his S22 on here last saturday and i jumped on it hard. We talked a few times during the week as i was working hard on figuring out all the details of how to go look at, have checked out, pay for and ship back a boat 940 miles! from Sacramento California up to Victoria BC where i live. too much trouble to fly down, rent a car, inspect, and ship then fly home all on a saturday so on thursday i decided to drive down. Im in school right now in Vancouver BC so after a long day of school i got in my Honda Ridgeline at 630pm and drove 14 hours straight only stopping for gas arriving at 830am. I crashed in the backseat for 2 hours of sleep a block from Tims house. I got up and went to find my pre arranged marine surveyor checking over the boat. He said it was one of the nicest boats he had ever seen and that he couldn't find a single thing wrong with it. The boat has been meticulously maintained, was bought new by Tims friend, making him the second owner and only has 174 original hours on it. Tim and his wife were so nice they made a stressful unpredictable experience quite enjoyable and i now consider them good friends. They even took me out for a nice lunch before i hit the road to head home.the way back was way more then 14 hours and my little 3.5l V6 Honda pulled like a champ through the mountains of the I5. I stopped only once other then gas) to sleep in the boat in a parking lot for 4 hours but i made it back to CANADA sunday evening around 5pm. no trouble at the boarder and my wife took the boat home to Victoria today as im back in school. One crazy weekend of solid driving but it was all worth it and i think i did it the cheapest way possible. planning a fresh water cooling system and a ballast system in the near future and lots of wakeboarding ! looking forward to posting more often and being a productive member around here
Cheers: James
