X22 for sale
« on: August 12, 2004, 15:54:51 pm »
Don't be surprised if you see our X22 on boatrader soon.  It only has 155 hrs and is immaculate.  I absolutely love this boat, but my wife and I are having a baby in November.  I know I'm going to regret selling it after things settle back down and finances aren't as tight.  I attached a couple pics.  The first one is a picture of the prop guard casters my buddy and I added to the trailer last weekend.  Seems like I?m getting everything the way I want it just in time to sell it. Let me know if any of you know of someone in the market.  Email: kconaway@mjleeconstruction.com

That is such a nice ride. Looks friggin sweet and clean like Cal's.

Congrats on the baby, and I hope you DON'T regret the sale.

Most important: PLEASE only sell her to a good family so she'll be well cared for.

Now that you mention it, the picture angle does make the vent look like its on the tower.  lol
Thanks for the complements on the boat guys.  I'm still trying to figure out a way to keep her. :'(
Cal, the teak isn't varnished.  I used the 3 Sea Bowld products on it a few weeks ago (cleaner, brightener, and oil), worked great.  I also like to wipe a little teak oil on it about every other time I take it out.

I got the idea for the casters from some pics on wakeworld.  I picked up a set at a place called Casters of Oklahoma.  They have a rigid fork, sealed bearings, and 1000 lb. capacity per caster.  They were only $20 each.  I read on wakeworld that some of those guys were paying over $100 per caster.  The guys at this shop assured me that these would work.  He said they use them on big RVs.  With our trailers, it turned out that a piece of angle iron provided the perfect size brace and very strong (I think it was 2" angle).  We made a plate to weld to the caster fork and welded the angle to that plate.  We then welded each edge of the angle to prop guard allowing the casters to set below the prop guard about 3/8".  After a fresh coat of white paint, it looks stock.  They work great.  I was tired of tearing up my driveway and prop guard.  It helps if your friend is a good welder, but any trailer shop should be able to do it.  Let me know if you want some more close-up pics.  Hope this helps.

Cyclone, sorry to use you site for sales. But, like Derek mentioned, I want to find my boat a good home.  I figured someone involved with epicmarine.com would be more likely to take good care of her.  I just put the add in today.

Makes me sick to see a nice 155-hour X22 going for $24K. I do understand if you're really in need of the cash, but dang.

And will trader online allow you to post epicmarine's web address? I'd be a lot more serious about a boat I knew nothing about if there was a website on the subject. FWIW...

Well, we sold the boat today to a great family in Minnesota.  They drove 900 plus miles and picked it up today.  I could tell they are going to give the Epic a great home.  He had already been looking around on this site before I told him about it.  He seems to be a pretty serious wakeboarder and puts on a week-long wakeboard camp up their in the summer.  If I can find the time to go to Minnesota, I could ride behind the Toyota again.  It was hard to see them drive away.  But, it helps knowing it is going to be well cared for.  I wanted to thank all of you guys for sharing your knowledge.  Epicmarine.com has been one of the many bonuses to owning this boat.  Hopefully, you'll see me back soon.

Glad to hear you got things worked out, and yes, it'd be cool to see you back. If you have time, check back on the site, or at least private message Pete with your email address so we can find you to ask questions if we need to.

Now go enjoy fatherhood!

Well I am the guy who bought kyle's x22, and it does have a good home.  After about 8hrs of two people scrubbin, polishing, and waxin the boat is in showroom condition, and is about to head out for a wakeboard demo for a surfshop.  So, thanks kyle for everying and the drive back to Minnesota was long but without incident.  I hope you find another boat soon.

And welcome to you!!! I swear, when we win the lotto, I'm gonna buy me an X22 and an E21 to go with our S22. Haven't decided what the E21's gonna look like, but FOR SURE, the X22's gonna look like yours.

Oh yeah, one or more of them three would be re-engined by a well-supercharged and intercooled 1UZ-FE VVTi. Figure if we build it off to the side it's less of a risk on the boat - if you're happy with it, R&R the stock engine. If not, sell it to a dune buggy guy, or better...go find a '65 Land Cruiser to drop it into.

Dang, Tuesday feels good.

Enjoy your new Epic!!!

Derek, I don't know what you're on...but whatever it is, I want some!!!

W8fool, welcome to the site. You and I have nearly identical X22's, except the previous owner of mine re-powerdercoated the tower black, and replaced the rub-rail with a black one.  Other than that, identical... (I try to keep mine in as good condition as yours!!!)

Oh, and WHATEVER YOU DO...make sure you take care of that teak. ;)
