Has anyone replaced an impeller on a Vdrive Toyota?
It looks like you would need to remove the partition between the rear of the engine and the rear ski locker.  Then work from the ski locker.

I replaced the impeller this weekend. As a first service (for me) I pulled all the bulkheads out (the one aft of the engine is a little tricky.

I do believe that both impeller and regular service can be done without rmoving that bulkhead.

My contact at Phil Dill emphasized to me the importance of servicing that water pump. His opinion (which I agree with) is to change that thing every year.

Annual service is now up to....
 - Mobil 1 fluids: $45
 - Mobil 1 filter: $12
 - Impeller: ~$30
 - Fuel filter: $10

.....$97 plus (hopefully) three hours and a checkride.

Don't think you could get a service tech to put in the new Sublime CD for $100.

Hey Derek,
Glad you found the site, I just got it submitted to Google and other search engines. I wholeheartedly agree with your mechanic, you don' t want to overheat an aluminum engine even once, its toast. I saw a new 1UZ motor in the crate on Ebay a while back, it was going for over 9k. New is 16k. Check the different pages on the site for all kinds of info, I scanned in all the brochures I have and put up a bunch of stuff on the How TO page. More stuff is coming.
