Got wood - a plug for DIM
« on: July 02, 2003, 19:40:28 pm »

Just placed my order for an OJ stainless 4-blade with Discount Inboard Marine. They don't list stainless models on their website, but can get them.

Asked Karen some questions about the application and she referred me to Eric at OJ - 1(800) 359-9730. I told Eric that my S22 with a 3-blade 13x13 LH nibral prop gets to 42 mph and 5500 rpm.

Eric said that the Lexus likes to wrap up, and that he's a little concerned that 5500 is too low when redline's at 6000. However, he suggested not to reduce the pitch of the prop.

So, back to DIM, their price for the stainless was $355, and they gave the $139 briefcase and puller for $79 with the prop purchase.

It's a little more than what some other posters mentioned in this forum, but I like them, they're quick and pretty cheap. Karen is very helpful, and even repeated back all my RPMs, speeds and priorities verbatim. I'll use them again.

...and a CD changer....

....and the TRD cat-back we've been lusting after for the Sequoia...

It's been a good day ;-)

Last but not least, found out that JBA makes headers for the truck that are 50-state smog-legal (and add about 20HP and 15 ft/lbs.) Planted the seed with our CFO and reminded her that it might be my tow vehicle, but it's her truck.

I need me somma them headers too for my Bronco.
I buy props straight from the dealer, they sold me the same exact thing for 400$, so you didn't do that bad. You do want heavy cup, I think it is .080. My next one will be stainless.
