mountain states epic party
« on: July 19, 2005, 04:30:21 am »
So the good Dr. Bitzco and I met up for a few days of blistering heat (106-107) at Lake Powell last weekend.? I took a few pix of our vessels to post.? Both of our boats ran like new, mine celebrated its 200th hour of trouble free operation.? We had sweet water on Friday.? ?Bitzy landed a tantrum to revert.? He's an animal.?
In the first picture, yes, that is direct TV that I had installed onto my tower.  It keeps the kids happy.  In the third picture, that is Bitzco and his wife humping on the sun deck while my 14 year old daughter looks on.

Man that Festivus is always tryin' to put me down. it was a toeside, blindside tantrum to revert three feet above the tower wearing my blue tan thru speedo and straw amish hat. Oh yeah, it was also done on a wakeskate. Actually, I am too old and bald to keep up with Festivus. Also, note in the third pic that my seven year old daughter is watching his 14 year old daughter watching me and the Mrs. on the sundeck. Actually, I wish there was some action on that sundeck. I'm off somewhere helping little midgets climb rocks and stuff without breaking their necks. Anybody want to go in on a houseboat share at Powell? I'm gettin' kinda tired of being Lake Powell trailer trash. I'm trailer trash at home, so why would I want to go on vacation and still be trailer trash.

Lastly, ain't them there boats purty? Take a looksee at the SX. I didna like da foldin' bimini worth a dang, so I dug deep in da couch an scrounged up some change fer a bimimi what makes de ol lady happy. It covers her delicate parts from da sun what is a shinin' up in da sky. It ain't da manliest of dem bimini's but is so durn functional, I had to pick it up at da store. Folds up nice agin da tower fer towin' da boat aroun too. Bimini is bald head's best frien'.

Good times.....
Sounds like fun was had by all. Pretty cool lake, I'll have to visit sometime, if'n I can tow the boat behind the house. "That thar is an R V. (tenenment on wheels)"

That is a very nice bimini, bitz. I like how it's way up there, no room for bigass speakers though. Unless you put them on TOP.

You guys are so killing me right now. Powell's such a great lake, it's so cool that your two families hang out together like that - you're fortunate big time. (Makes up for the whole trailer thing).

Nice pair of boats, too!!!!!

As far as the houseboat share goes...if you're even close to serious on that, I'd like to know what you know about how it works.

Would love for our S22 to be in that picture - ROUND UP, WEST COAST STYLIE

We should round up at Powell or Mead. Fest and I and some others usually go to Mead in the late fall and early spring. It would be great to have another Toy along. Fest and I are looking into the houseboat thing. It looks like 10 to 20 grand initial cost to get a decent boat with a decent week. You buy a share and get a week or two weeks a year. We only want one week. June and Sept weeks are like 10k and July and Aug weeks are 20k ish. There is also an annual maintennance fee that ranges widely from $750 to $1500. My neighbor has a June share on a sweet boat 70 feet long with 4 decks. 4 bedroom, 3 bath three story tall slide. One of the largest and nicest boats on the lake. They have some sept weeks available. The maint fee on that one is $1500 and the weeks are 10k in sept. The bummer for a Californian is that it is at the Halls Crossing Marina on the north end of the lake. Probably a 15 or 16 hour drive from LA. Still, if three guys went in on it, it would be about 3 grand each and $500/year maint. Not too bad when a houseboat like this one is about $1000 bucks a day to rent.

Sounds like a sweet boat, for sure. Looked Hall's Crossing up and it is pretty remote. We did a week with a friend's extended family on two houseboats at Mead quite a few years ago. Towboat, jet boat, couple PWCs. Had a great time, but we still look back to that as being the true test of a relationship - if you think you can get along with another family, spend a week on a boat with them. We've found ONE family we gel with well and love going with them. It's not that it's really heard to get a long with people, it just that those close quarters and interdependency really bring to the surface any serious defects like unwillingness to contribute, tempers, over-drinking (yes, it's possible to actually drink TOO much on a vacation ;-)

What I would give to be on the lake right now!

So, Fest, Fest's bro, and I are hauling the Yotas to Powell for another trailer trash get together Sept. 8-11. We'll be in the family trailer units at Bullfrog marina when we're not out on the lake. If anyone with their boat wants to drop by, perhaps we can get a picture to outdo those southern states freaks with their tree lined lakes. A picture of four or five Toyotas with the backdrop of redrock sandstone would certainly be a sight and would put those guys to shame. Any babes you want to bring along too would be nice since that might outdo HCollado'd drowned avatar babe. Babes would also go along well with Fest's babies. Really, if you are in the neighborhood, drop by. We ain't big drinkers (after all this is Utah), but we've got a gang of like 10 familes coming for the trip and a good time will be had by all.

Bitz, it sounds like a hoot. I, for one, will go on record saying that I appreciate your obtuse sense of humor. I really do.

I have a prior engagement, going to the Richmond NASCAR race (can get stupid cheap tickets, anyone?) and then a week with the boat on Kerr Lake between NC and VA, way laid back.

The costs you guys lay out for a week of houseboat time is about the payment for a year of lake lot with a dock, to build on:) I've been both here and there, I dunno why you do it:)

did you say NASCAR?  Any more redneck jokes pointed at me and I'll start with the NASCAR bashing.  I think with our group for the above mentioned Powell trip we will actually have 6 boats (3 yotas).  No inbred cousin shizzle going on, or family luvin, so the southern fellas would probably be bored.
It is expensive out here to boat, but the lake is worth it.
BTW- I am planning on replacing my tracking fin this weekend.  I'll have to go back to fat sacks for my ballast.

Now if only I could get my wife, kids, neighbors and dog to appreciate it, life would be fine.
