Anyone ever run one in saltwater? I live in Merritt Island, Fl and am very intrested in getting a Toyota. Does it have any kind of flush system? I cruise the river a lot and do a ton of boarding. What do you guys think?

Yes, I have run My Boat off Ft. Lauderdale as a dive boat with 3 people and gear, Now that is ballast. So you will need a fresh water kit on any salt water application . see Fla. Vdrive for sale.......It has Fresh water kit.

I have lived here on the coast for a while and only used outboard engines in the saltwater. Are most inboard/inboard-outboard engines closed looped cooling? If not why are there so many used in the saltwater with no problems? I would think just getting a flush system would be fine. Unless most of these engines are not Aluminum. And does this matter?

Toyota still sells a pretty reasonable custom closed loop system for the boat. Salt would eat an aluminum engine alive if you didn't use one.
