Boat Registry
« on: January 24, 2006, 03:59:32 am »
It is winter and I am bored. So, I changed the boat registry page so you can sort by the column headers. Click on the arrow on the right to expand and collapse the deatil of each boat.

You may not have noticed that I added a field for forum username, so if you have not added yours, then edit your boat and add it. It helps represent.

If there are any php coders out there who know how to show the up arrow once the record is expanded instead of the same down arrow, let me know. It should have the down arrow when collapsed(indicating that when you click it, it will expand), and the up arrow when xpanded(indicating that when you click it, it will hide the detail)

Speaking of psycho, check out Frapper. I've got color-keyed pins now that correspond to V-, big D-, little -D, and unknown...

A salute to both of you for keeping these great additions going. The registry is expanding and is great for sorting info. Frapper is a hoot - everyone needs to add themselves to it. It looks as if it would be so easy to have a Round Up in N. Miss., W. Tenn, SE MS., etc. and attract a bunch of us. After all, it is just an inch on the map!!!
Don't be so humble, you're not that great.

An idea....under 500. That's from Dorge. Don't recall the exact number he gave, if he gave one.

I just got the complete list of HINs containing boat options and descriptions from a reliable source and there are 644 unique HINs.

Stay tuned for some cool way to reference this on the site pretty soon.

HEre's an example of a record:

Stand corrected. Do you think that list includes the recalled E21's?

BTW, did anyone see that post on ww by Travis Moye indicating that there were in fact accidents resulting from chine lock?

Cool to hear about the list!

Of the E-21's recalled, was it for the chine lock or other reasons?

It was for chine lock caused by a hull twist. The twist was caused by the mold being left in the hot florida sun for a time. All affected boats were recalled and destroyed.

There were accidents, I know a guy that flipped his E21. The problem was discovered by my dealer, it took them some time to convince Toyota that there was a problem. I don't know of any other accidents that may have occurred.

Hull problems like this are not that uncommon in the boat industry. It is more likely to be noticed in the ski boat side of the biz because these are high performance boats and people drive them that way. What is unusual is a manufacturer owning up and making it right. It definitely cost them, I'm sure it didn't help them sell more boats!
