Based on all the recommendations from the board, I replaced the impeller, battery (new Optima blue-top that fit perfectly), and changed the oil (put in 5W-30 Toyota oil with new Toyota filter -- only 73 hours on the meter, so I'll wait until 200 to go with synthetic). We put about 3.5 hours on the meter and after a shaky start from the gas guage, everything worked perfectly. The idle was a little uneven at first, but held a perfect 800 RPM by the end of the day. Back at the ramp, we faced a typical west texas 30 mph breeze and the ride in a windy 2 ft. chop was a little wet, but we had no problem getting the boat back on the trailer. Once inside the guides, the trailer seemed to lock the E22 on track and guide it straight to the wench. So far so good -- we'll give it a real test when the tower arrives.
