My boat starts up most the time but every maybe 1 out of 10 times it refuses to start, so I will let it sit for a min or two try again starts right up. I'm concerned that it might refuse to start up one of the times and could be stranded. Fuel filter was changed, new oil, tested battery at autozone they said it was good and had full battery so i know alternator is good. Since my last time going out I cleaned the terminals, new spark plugs which had no oil on old ones, which is good.
I'm not sure with what I have done its fixed or maybe I should replace the starter, any ideas and if so is there a tutorial and whats part number, I have a X22 99 thanks for your help

tyler- fairly common. nothing wrong at all. tends to happen after a hot soak. It makes my wife panic every time. just wait 5 seconds and try again.

Only problem you might have is a dirty throttle body. clean with carb or brake clean and an old tooth
brush. nothing to aggresive like a wire brush.

I had a similar problem. turned out to be a loose wire at the fuel pump.

Suggest turn key to on, press and hold the red button on egine marked FP for 15 seconds to clear any vapor lock.
