Accuski Problem
« on: June 24, 2008, 16:06:49 pm »
So I just picked this boat up a couple weeks ago and now the "T" button on the accuski isn't working anymore. So the only menu I can see is the one that starts with "Contrast". Is it possible to have this fixed, does anyone have any ideas on how I can fix it?

This boat is the millenium edition so the only way to see the hours are through this stupid thing...

Thanks.

PM Flyn2001, he had to replace his head unit.  I believe he bought it from another member of the site and just replaced the whole unit.  There are two components to Accuski.  One is the head unit that also gives depth, oil, etc... and the other is the throttle assembly.  All of the boats have the head unit, but not all of them have the throttle assembly.  If you have not used the Accuski successfully yet, I would ensure the throttle assembly is there.  If you need to replace the head unit, try TMS parts on the webpage or see if anyone has an extra unit available.  If you do decide to get Perfect Pass, you will actually leave the Accuski head unit for all the other indications and replace the speedometer (it shows on the Perfect Pass display).

If you need the throttle assembly you can have mine.  Its new and never installed.  I'm saving up for perfect pass.

Thanks bullet. Just not sure if I need it yet. How can I tell if I need the throttle assembly? Also, I see that there is a "5 in 1 Message Center" for $300 in the TMS. I'm assuming that I just replace that.

But does anyone have an extra one laying around that they'd like to sell? If not I'll just pick up one from the TMS.

Thanks for the help guys!

slowyota,

I bought one from a guy on this website a few months back because mine was starting to get the lines through the letters (kind of like a printer that is not aligned).  It has been quite a few months now since I changed it out and I can't remember how bad the display was.

Do you remember K-town??  Was it completely out?

I say this because, if i can find it this weekend, I will just give you my old one.  No gaurantees on its performance though.  Maybe it will be better than what you currently have and can get you buy until you are ready to buy a new one, or maybe it turns out to be a paper weight, or even parts?.  Up to you.  Just let me know.

Forgot to mention that I posted what the part is, just incase you want to order a new one and save the hassle.  But check with Capt Rick to verify that is the part you need.  Good luck.

Hey thanks Flyin yeah if you still have it I'd pay the shipping to give it a shot. Figure if the new unit is $300+, and a perfect pass is just a little bit more (trying to convince the wife of that) why not just save up for the PP.

But if that could get me by in the mean time then I'd be happy. If it doesn't work out, then no sweat, it was worth a try.

slowyota,

I'm taking the boat out this Saturday.  I will look for it and let you know.  Flyn

slowyota,

I apologize, but I couldn't find my old DECC.  I must have tossed it after the replacement was installed.  Maybe it was in worse shape than I remember.  Sorry.

Also, Just want to make sure you understand the perfect pass setup.  If you install it, you still want to have the DECC as well.  My standard speedometer was removed and the PP was placed in there in place of it.  Here is what it looks like....good luck with your purchases.

I think I remember the old one being pretty bad.  I would be surprised if a pack rat like yourself would have tossed it, if it wasn't unusable.  By the way, it looks like you might need to charge your battery (nice voltmeter).

Flyin - No worries and thanks for looking. Also thanks for the pic, that helps me a ton. I thought that the PP replaced the info center. So looks like I just need to bite the bullett and buy a new gauge.

Thanks again!
