Rear Truck lock
« on: July 15, 2008, 14:43:44 pm »
Somehow the rear trunk (storage) on my E22 got locked.  I have never locked it before because I thought I didn't have the key for it.  Does anyone know if the ignition key is supposed to open the rear trunk?  Mine doesn't seem to be working and I was wondering if there is supposed to be a second key for the boat.  It's looking like I need to get a key made or call a locksmith.  I cant get the darn thing open.  Oh ya, all my stuff is inside...

Thanks

Ignition key WILL NOT unlock the back compartment. Separate key for dash and hatch locks. Small screw driver may do the trick. These are not high tech lots.

it's a standard Perko part, you can probably get the number off the top of the cylinder and ger a key for it from them.

Ya, we got it unlocked and are having a key made Monday. That was a bad deal. Got out on the lake and found the trunk locked, we didn't dare mess with it to much (didn't want to break the key off it the lock).  All is good now though.  Thanks for the help!!!!
