GPS Perfect Pass Install
« on: September 07, 2009, 00:04:12 am »
I have seen several posts about Perfect Pass so I my question does not relate to what I have seen.  I am sold on the idea of it since my speedo doesn't work.  Rather than try to figure out how to fix it I want to upgrade.  My understanding is that the new Perfect Pass does not require holes to be drilled.  To anyone that has installed the new GPS version how difficult is the install?  How long does it take?  What if any modifications are needed for it to work properly?  Has anyone taken some photos of the install that could provide some help?

Thank you.

Work that I have done in the past 3 weeks thanks to this forum:

- Fixed upholstery panel
- Changed oil
- Changed spark plugs
- Reset Tach pulse rate
- Replaced oil pressure sensor
- Replaced blower motor
- Cleaned bilge screen

Perfect Pass Install (Progress) (PDF)
This is located in the Maintenance section of the web site. It tells you a lot. Also instructions come with the perfect pass kit.
Plan on 4 hours max to do the install. The people at Perfect Pass are very helpful if you get stuck or have a problem.

I did the perfect pass GPS install this spring on my S-22.  I followed the instructions on this site with the exception of drilling the hole.  I installed the GPS antenna just above the steering column using a plastic base and velcro.
