Port side block drain vale replacement
« on: October 22, 2009, 12:58:42 pm »
I winterized my '99 E-21 and rounded of the petcock valve assembly on the port side.  It was, of course, in the open position and now I find that I will need to replace it.  There is a cooling line from the oil filter assembly that I can not seem to get at, to remove the hose so that I can unscrew the petcok from the block.  Any suggestions on how best to fix it?

I replaced the petcocks on my x-22 epic this past summer.  I had to remove the exhaust manifolds on both sides.  It took tid bit more time but was worth the extra space.  Ever since, I have some Aerospace corrosion space I bought from overtons.com and I make sure after a day on the lake to spray the petcocks to prevent them from ever getting in state like that again.  I would wrestle with those darn things every year, lets hope never again.
