Engine Hours
« on: May 27, 2004, 04:17:27 am »
Does anyone know if the engine hours meter in the dash is affected by disconnecting the battery?

When I reconnected the battery and turned on the key, the hour meter is showing ~85 hours on it--about the same as when we first got the boat last year.  Seems odd.  Is the memory supposed to be non-volatile?

Is there another place to check the true hours on the engine?  (the engine ECU?)

Thanks.

Don't know, but wondered that myself. Would almost consider installing an old-fashioned hour meter back in the engine bay for backup. Let us know what you find (Accuski might be able to help with your question.)
