I own one of the SX's with cracked ballast tanks. So rather than fixing them I added a new system with the help of Captain Rick.
Captain Rick designed this right down to the wiring harness. Very slick and easy to install.
Cost was about $1000, for the pump, plumbing, wiring and 2 rear locker bags.
Installation was 6 Hours of my time.
Plus I just added a nose bag for $225 more to get even weight distribution of the 1500 lbs. 900 rear 600 front. This has its own valve and quick disconnect so i can remove it fast if i have nose passengers/self relocating ballasts!
Fill time 10-12 minutes.
Drain time 10-12 minutes.
The wake is huge now! Really scary big! Just what i wanted. Now i am adding Perfect Pass, so that will be my next post.
Tools: Drill, 1/2"- 1 1/2" drill bits (the hole saw kind for the through hull fittings)
Screw driver set
Pipe cutter
PVC glue
Olfa Knife (box cutter)
Dish soap, as lube to get hoses onto rigid pipe connections.
It has a switch under the rear center seat, dual on off valves for left or right filling, for surfing, one Jabsco pump and a new through hull valve.
Pictures attached.
