hey guys, new member buying a 00 X22 this week. quick question

I've found a 2000 X22 i'm going to pick up next week.  talking to the owner, he said he doesn't know of a hour meter on the boat.  every listing that i've found shows how many hours are on the boat, except for this one.  was the hour meter an option on the boat?  the guy has had the boat since 2001.  any help would be appreciated.

there is always an hour meter. if its a 00 i would assume its got the millennium (four gauge) dash, it will be listed in the message center you will have to thumb through it to find the hours. if its not a millennium dash or doesn't have a message center (don't know if that's even possible may have to check with rick) its just like a car and is in the speedometer gauge or tachometer gauges cant remember which. i had a 99 e22 that had the old style dash. the message center isn't the best piece of electronics on the boat and sometimes fail. so if its not working it will need to be replaced to see the hours.

Yep, 2000 X22  will have it in the digital message gauge (i used to have one). T=toggle, E=enter.  Off the top of my head I think it is Toggle to the screen with engine on the list (you may need to hit up or down to highlight engine, hit E and it should display hours

Welcome to the fold! FYI, the hour meter on the Message Center is zeroed if its supporting computer is replaced, so if it has been...the numbers won't be accurate. Good news is the boats run forever.

I have had my boat over 2 years now and I cannot even remember if I have ever checked the hour meter.  These boats are awesome!  If the boat has been taken care of and he has the service records then the hours are just a small detail.
