boat on plane

I have a 2001 sx=vdrive.  It is difficult to get on plane unlike my friends ddrive and vdrive Malibus. Basically it is plowing throug the water at any speed below 18mph.   My swim platform also sits in the water while the others are a few inch's above water when at rest.  Do any of you have this problem?

When the boat is at rest, my 2001 S22 (vdrive) has a swim platform that is about an inch below the water.  Off the top of my head, I don't remember when the boat planes out, but I'm guessing it's right around 17-18mph...I'll try and check when I ride tomorrow.

My Ddrive planes at about 17 with no weight, put some lead up under the front seats if you want to plane sooner. I bet your wake is bigger than your friends boats, if they plane it means the hull is up on top of the water and displacing less. My swim platform is about 3" under water when I have 2k in the boat, if you are standing on the platform the transom light is about 2" above the water.

I took my swim platform off to see if the boat would plane at a lower speed.  It didn't seem to make much difference.
