confused about epic for sale

I saw what was listed as a 1999 Epic X22, but there was no tower or graphics on the boat.  Is this listed incorrectly or were X22's sold in 1999 without towers?  Also, I thought I remembered reading that the X22 and SX had the same hull.  Would that be correct?  Thanks.

Your assumptions are correct. X22s were the direct drive version of their wakeboard boat. They came with a tower and rear ballast. It may be an E22 - open bow, no ballast, no tower.

philb- chances are its not a X22 its a E22. All X22's come with tower and ballast system in the trunk. The X22 does not have the same hull as the SX. The E22 and X22 share the same hull. The SX and S22 share the Omega hull.

Philb, If you find a Hull Identification Number (HIN), this website has info on all boats made to x-ref.
