Here's Mine

Here's a pic of my Toyota Epic 2001 SX. Bought it last fall after I sold my Epic X-22. The X-22 was a great ride, but my wife wanted a little better family boat and neither I nor my kids really ski anymore.

The SX has been different but just as great as the X-22 was. Fill the ballast, add 800 or a thousand pounds of crew and a 300 pound bow sack and the wake is as big (or bigger) than I'll ever need it. The deeper hull also gives my wife a bit more security on the big lakes when the wind picks up. The guy who had the boat before me rigged it up nice with some sweet woofers, racks, heater, shower, lights, snap on and winter covers and other goodies that he threw in when I bought it.

A few weeks ago at Lake Powell, she about sank during the night while she was beached. Checked it out and the drive shaft packing was leaking like crazy. Had it repacked and she continues to purr like a kitten. I have never had any real maintenance issue with either boat. Just stuff my kids mess up. I don't even have the annoying oil alarm. Originally did have it in the X-22 but Marine Products in Salt Lake fixed her up for me and it never went off again. They tell me they did the same fix in the SX before I bought it. Those of you with questions about how to get it to go away should call thier service guys. You can find their numbers at www.marine-products.com. These guys know their Toyotas. My bro in law has an S-22 and they just did some warranty work for him and installed a sweet stereo and light system for him. He brought it over from Denver because Tommy's (the old Toyota dealer there) won't do squat with warranty or just about anything else for that matter.

Anyway, here's the boat and my new rig to pull it with. I was pulling with a Honda Pilot and a 4Runner but needed a bit more power for the mountains here in Utah. I'll post some more pics later. By the way, there are a lot of 'yotas in Utah. I see em on the road and the lake all the time. Marine Products sold a bunch of em.
03 Pilot, 01 Epic SX, 330 cc bombers and 4 kids in back. Working to retire to a lakeside cottage with my own boat dock.
