Engine Stalls

So I have addressed/changed the gas, plugs & fuel filter.  Boat starts and idles great but stalls when RPM's reach 1200 to 2000.  No one in my area (Northern KY) will work on a Toyota.  Anyone know a shop that will look at my boat?  I will gladly travel to the shop.

Sounds like the fuel pump might be failing. Had a similar issue with a vehicle of mine which ran fine at idle but when placed under load, the fuel pump couldn't keep up. Use a fuel pressure gauge to make sure you are holding pressure. Perhaps a bad MAF or related intake parts.

Unfortunately I don't have a recommendation on someone who services boats in KY. Have you tried asking a local Toyota, Lexus dealer?

Use sensor cleaner to clean the MAF to get rid of dust bunnies. I think Derek or Cyclone had a post on it. If that doesn't work, use vice grips to pinch the fuel return line. It forces fuel through the pump and to the engine rather than bypassing it. If the engine runs with the fuel line pinched your pump is shot. Also, there are two pumps. A primary and a secondary. I believe one is to get it running/idling and the other is to keep it going when you apply power.

I had the same problem. It was a loose connection to one pump and a short to the other. When you get it sorted let us know what it was please.

Tnx!  Yes I removed and cleaned the MAF sensor.  I will travel to other states BTW.  Is there only a single return line?  If so on which pump?  My understanding is the lower pump is the main and the top pump is the kicker.  I have S22 V drive.

take vise grips pinch the line going back to the tank.. remove plastic cap on the fuel rail above the fuel pumps. watch the screw when you turn on key and press FP button does the screw raise about 1/8 inch and stay up?
