High idle red warning light

I read posts from last year which included replacing the throttle body for high idle and red warning light issue
I removed mine and cleaned it replaced the gasket back together normal idle until I touched the throttle then rev and back to high idle
Wondering if posts from 2015 still have success with eBay throttle body

The eBay throttle body has worked perfect all season! Find one with a free return and give it a try. I will almost gaurantee it will fix your problem.

No luck
Cleaned the replacement, new gasket
Engine would start for 1 second and shut off
Operating throttle would stumble for a second then die

Are all sensors plugged in?
Did you try starting with the throttle cable disconnected?
Can you hear the buzzing sound from the ETCS when you turn the key on?
Is the red light still on?

Have you looked into the diagnostic Toyota Techstream cable and software to try to figure out the problem? If not, it is a cheap way to try to figure out the problem as it helped me.

All sensors plugged then would only start for one second after a positive crank. Replaced the original back to the same result after about 30 seconds.

 Just read an old post about the throttle motor dismantling and replacing the bearings and cleaning the magnet and coil does anyone know about this

I replaced mine with an Ebay throttle body last season. Still 0 issues.

The shop manual has testing for the throttle body to determine which part is bad. The result will be replacing the throttle body the gasket does not effect anything.

 I don't know who posted it but the pages from the shop manual showing resistance checks for all the plugs worked the motor resistance was low I robbed the motor from a throttlebody assembly I ordered from a 1999 Lexus LS400 swapping throttlebody motors work no problems back on the lake thanks to everyone
