"THE BOOK"
« on: February 28, 2005, 21:56:30 pm »
Have any of you bought "The Book" wakeboarding video? I'v heard it covers everything in the wakeboarding world including:Boat set up, rope length, riding basics to the jaw dropping inverts, gear, and even workouts. I was thinking about buying it , but would like some trusted feed back first.

I just finished watching the second DVD and all I can say is WOW!!!! I had previously bought "Higher Education" and thought it was good, but this blows it out of the water. This is hands down the best instructional ive ever seen. it is very indepth in every area and will even suprise you on the stuff you thought you had down. The only downfall I found was, I have a lot of bad habits to break...The DVD set is definitly worth the money if you want to learn.

Im sold as well. Thanks for the feedback Wakejunky and welcome to the small but distinguished club. I could not view the trailers because my computer is a piece of CRAP. Now would some one please call my wife, tell her you've kidnapped me and if she ever wants to see me in one piece again she needs to purchase a dry suit (so I can ride with Cal in 12 days), AND a $100 wakeboarding video. I'll be forever in debt to you (or at least until the suit and video arrive).

I'll call her.  What's her number.  :)

j/k.. but what's a wakeboard video cost $100 for?  I have Higher Education and you can borrow it if you want.  It's decent, but they tried to cram too much stuff onto it and should have just focussed on the basics, with a bit more detail on trick explanations.

I looked up the info on "The Book"
it is actualy about 4-5 DVD for $90, or you can buy them separately for about $30.
It looks pretty informative, I have Detention V I&II and I love watching the tricks, but I haven't graduated from wake jumping and some basic 180's, so I may invest in the Book. I wonder if it has hit EBay?
Oh, and Highflyn, buy your wife a bunch of flowers or some jewelry to camouflage your wakeboarding intents, it'll go a mile.

Man, what world do you guys live in. To get any good will out of my wife, it would be more like - watch the kids for a week or clean the entire house, garage and cars, or new diamond ring, or a day at the spa, or a bunch more new clothes that will just hang in the closet. My wife's smart. She knows she won't get any of that from me, even for boat stuff. Its actaully good. Saves us a bunch of cash all around.

if that is your wife in the picture, then I think all you'd need to slide some new wakeboarding gear by her would be a turkey leg and a pitcher if Kool Aid.

Its all about ballast. Ballast, ballast, ballast and Festivus is just jealous.

Just checked out the Book at Marine Products. The first two volumes look about my speed. How to cut right, board positioning, simple jumps, 180s. The third volume gets into inverts and stuff like that. The marine products dude said, "There is nothing better. This will get you from shmo to pro." Real instruction on the basics and gradually moving up to the stuff my old body will probably never do. Festivus, you and I need to invest in this and copy it (oh, I mean share it).
