Best Wake Set-Up for X22
« on: May 18, 2003, 21:12:00 pm »
Thanks to everyone for their help on this topic over the last several weeks.  I am convinced that this is the best set-up for the X22.
Full Ballast
#250 Lead on the back floor
#250 Twins on the floor in back on either side of the engine
#100 Up front under the seats

No riders in back with this set up.  If you do empty one (or both) of the twins.
The wake is outstanding with this set-up.

The lead is nice because you can move it aroung to fine tune.
Any extra fat sacks up front and the wake table gets bigger and the wakes smaller.  We also tried sand bags and 7 people on the boat of various sizes to come up with this perfect set up.

I also don't think I mentioned this before but the X22 is probably the best wakeboard boat to learn on.  With no extra weight you get great small rampy wakes even at low speeds.  Perfect to teach on.

that is a very cool evaluation, it sounds like you spent some time figuring out what works and what doesn't. I am revamping my setup now, testing different weights and conditions. I have redone my whole setup to just fill and empty one sack, a Fat Seat. It is the best of situations for me. We should get together and evaluate things, I live on the east side of town, you  are on the west, but we should get together! I have two boys, 10 and 13, they live to wakeboard.

I would also like to see your battery set up in person.

An additional note on the best wake set-up is that without a couple folks up front or in the middle; the front of the boat can get a little squirrelly.  Also, the wakes curl over (out) a little instead of a nice ramp.  So now I am reccomending about 150 more pounds up front or in the middle if it is only the driver and rider.
