One more plug...
« on: July 25, 2003, 06:36:52 am »
Toyota Racing Development - the aftermarket arm of Toyota has just blessed our lives with a cat-back exhaust for my tow vehicle, I mean the wife's truck, the '03 Sequoia.

We've had a K&N factory-installed intake kit for some time, and finally made peace with getting the full-monte TRD cat-back. Here she is next to the original equipment:

Damn, the truck sounds good now.

Toyota spent a million bucks sound-deadening and rattle-chasing that Sequoia, and we've got it sounding like it belongs at Daytona.

Now it roars from under the hood and out the back. Just can't wait to get on the on-ramp when the S22's behind it - get to keep your foot in it for a while ;-)

Are there any after market products that would up the torque/hp on our boats?

Gearhead....speak up here please.

Seems like a simple thing might be to get somebody to put an Eaton blower package together.

TRD wouldn't touch it because of the tiny niche and the fact that they won't infringe on the corporate brother L-Tuned.

Maybe we could entice one of our brethren to put a high-flow exhaust manifold together and kill two birds with one stone.

Don't think you could improve on the intake system without blower or turbo, but each of those would take some guts in having to deal with the engine computer and maps, etc.

Blower would be pretty cool, though. (Can you say 425 turn-key hp?)

I would say, no. No silver bullet for more power on our boats. Not enough displacement, for one.
