Good samaritan in Utah
« on: August 09, 2005, 03:38:36 am »
Somebody with an Epic was cool enough to help out a stranded boater, after other knuckleheads passed him by. Was it someone from this site? I have helped out so many poor saps that I had to post a pic that I like to call Towmaster!

I have towed no fewer than 2 boats back into the marina for various problems.  I wouldn't call it good samaritanship- I was laughing and pointing fingers the whole time.

I also have towed a couple, but I've never been smart enough to get a picture.

I jumped off a Cobalt at lanier one time. I was glad to help, but then I remember reading later that we should NEVER jump or be jumped off casue it can reek havock to the comp. Any truth to that?

that is a good question.  I think you are right.  I even had a toyota tech guy tell me not to jump off of the Seqiuoa for the same reason.  No more nice-ness here.

Oh my gosh, I jump off my Epic whenever I get hot and want to cool down (either way you want to think of it). I had no idea it would mess up the the boat, other than getting the carpet wet-
Don't be so humble, you're not that great.

Wreck, you are welcome here. I'm sure Festivus was not talking about the same type of electrical jump start everyone else was talking about. He was just noting that he has tried to "jump" his various toyotas in various and unnamed ways.

maybe Bitzco is right.  The best jumps is when there is a damsel in distress.  After you do the jumpin they get really appreciative and thankfull.

Jumping off to cool down is best. I have heard from a expert, never to
jump start or have a Epic jump started. The surge may mess up the computer. School is about to get going. Best time on the lakes, lots of glass coming up in the next 2 months.

same here, the kids are off the water, less boats on weekdays, calmer water.  We don't get "glass" but anything without a whitecap on it is great in Denver.
