Bought a new boat
« on: December 14, 2005, 04:33:58 am »
Not sure if you guys really care or not, but since I have spent alot of time on this board(lurking about) I thought I'd share anyway!

I bought myself a new BU247 this week.  Actually, I put down my deposit and put it on order.  It's almost exactly DOUBLE what my Epic cost me back in 2001....yikes!

ANyway, judging from the demo, it's super cool and has a TON of room...  I know the finish will be a close second to your boats, but that's the price we pay for buying a school bus size boat!

Krejci, that 247 is just a sick a$$ boat. No doubt, at Havasu the BUs are what catch my eyes. Are you getting the carbon tower? I love them things, specially the one with the integral 6x9's. I'd love to see pics when you get them!

BTW, do me a favor and PLEASE wave me down if you see us out at Elsi or Havasu. Remember, mine's the 43mph porch.

sure will, if I catch you..... every time I see a silver Sequoia near mtn gate, i wonder if that's you!?!

I did NOT get the carbon tower.....  it's cool and all, but it has some flex that seems a little weird and it costs a bunch.  I just goit the "normal" illusion tower.

the 247 is sweet.  Did you look at the 25 at all?  I think the layout is better in the 25, with the 2 captians chairs.  It looks like it has a bit deeper hull as well for those big lakes (Ozarks, Powell, etc.)  Very nice move.

I must confess I have Malibu lust. If I had unlimited resources and didn't care about gas useage I would buy an 04 or 05 VLX. I like them, I'd get the crazy tower with the 6x9's and everything.

BUT, I love my Epic and it does everything I want it to do and more, so I have absolutely no justification for doubling or tripleing the cost of my time on the boat.

malibu no longer has "gay wrassler" styling. They are cool now. IMHO.

I agree, it'll most likely be my next vessel.  I'd go for the 25 LSV wakesetter with the  CFT blde tower.  Propbably 90 grand though, so for now, I'm fine.

I'd agree the malibu's are nice. BUT have you guys seen the 25 foot LSV? I'm not talking about looking at there web site or "build a boat" site, but actually seen this monster in person. This isn't your average wakeboard boat in my opinion its not a wakeboard boat. Hooked up behind a 2005 Chevy crew cab dually it makes the truck look small. This is a toy for Tahoe or maybe off shore. price tag is only $65k though. I was shocked considering the size of this boat. when these are on the trailer you can not even touch the deck.

THat big beefy back end on the LSV25 is what I like!  Actually I am thinking 23lsv due to the difficulty moving the 25 around.  It'd take a new tow vehicle for me to get it to Powell, the Taurus would be over-loaded.  The 247 is also nice.
