Steering off when changed to a 4 Blade
« on: February 27, 2006, 21:44:33 pm »
Hey Forum,
Last year when I switched to a 4 blade from a stock 3 blade, the steering
lined up a quarter turn more to the right to proceed down the course.
However it did not pull, just didn't line up, The temp fix was to pull the wheel off
and reset it to the center. Short term fix. Now I'm a quarter turn short on the
left. Lock to Lock. Any great suggestion's for a fix? A pull apart or just an adjustment
of the rudder? Thanks in advance.

Wow that's weird. I think you could fix it by setting the wheel at the position that the boat drives straight, then detach the rudder inside the boat, without changing the postion of it. Then, reposition the wheel straight and reattach the rudder. Sounds like a pain in the hindparts. It might turn a little funny after that.

You might try another 4 blade to see if the original has "issues". Are there any vibration problems, etc?

cyclone,
The 4 blade was a factory TMS part. No vibrations at all.
Everything performance wise is great. I will give your idea a try.
Looking forward to getting started on "06",
75 F here this afternoon. However this is Kansas, just wait a couple minutes and weather will change.
Thanks for your input.

The factory OJ's were the sheot at the time, now they are considered sheot. They can be inconsistent compared to a CNC machined prop. You might think about getting an Acme 3 blade. i am waiting to have enough spare cash to buy one, and a dry suit, and a sub amp, and a 12" JL W6, and build a garage, get a supercharger kit for my Marauder, blah blah blah. Money was made round to roll and flat to slide:))

I thought it was made flat to bounce, and metallic to sound good hitting the bottom of a glass?
