could the problem i was having in the last post cause issues with power?  the boat will goto 4000 rpm and then anything after that it struggles and bogs down.  do all the eletrical components go through the switch/fuse in the bilge?  if so i may need to get a better connection.  if not is there something i can check.  it is also not jumping out of the water like it should or at least consistantly

thanks for any input

mike

Sounds like a possible fuel filter or plugs issue.  Does it smell rich or act like it's not getting enough fuel?  Rich most likely bad plugs, and if it's not getting enough gas could be fuel filter or fuel pump.

the plugs are ok.  look clean and doesnt smell rich.  i am getting a new fuel filter.  I called a marina and they told me that the part number 35-60494-1 has been replaced by 8028932.  can anyone verify this?  also i know we are not to use alcohol in the system but up here we have 10% ethanol in the gas.  could the boat's computer take power back due to that, would it?

Put new plugs in you can't tell anything by looking tasting... Then to make sure fuel pumps are working pinch return line...

As to the plugs, the best price I have found (when shipping is considered) is at rockauto.com if you have the time to wait for them.

DENSO 3297 (SK20R11) Spark Plug $ 9.36 x 8 = $ 74.88
Shipping   $ 5.93
Order Total   $ 80.81

Forget the "if you have time to wait for them" comment. They were shipped FedEx overnight! Good price, overnight shipping for under $6 and no tax - I am impressed.  However, for $10/plug I expect these things to install themselves.
