Lookng for a cover
« on: May 05, 2006, 22:57:04 pm »
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My boat either sits in the garage or on a lift with roof over it...

Looking for a cover to keep all the crap out.

If you have a tower, check with Phil Dill boats in Dallas.  They have (or had) a few Epic covers that they were going to let go for about $150, according to some earlier posts.  Click on dealer contacts for their info.

I just ordered a new Sunbrella cover from Overton's (Westland). It was "on sale" for around $500. Their basic covers were in the mid 200's.

I'd find a good canvas shop in the area and do a snap-on.  I just got my first one and I will never go back.  It'll be maybe a little more, but well worth it.

Called Phil Dill Boats and checked up on the cover issue.  After they checked the warehouse I got a call this morning saying they didn't have any for an epic.  NOT, sure if they were talking any for and X22 or any period.   Whatever the case looks like I'll be spending more then 150-

Hey Fest,

I have a S22 tower down (bat wings) cover I have never used.  I have looked for tower up for awhile, everything is $500 +.  I thought about the snap on bow and cockpit covers, but all those little snaps on the boat, does it kinda mess up the lines?  I pretty much keep the boat in inside storage but would like to leave at the lake once in awhile.  Who has snap on covers and what do they think??

BAD, I agree that it doesn't help appearance any. Sure would be cool from a practicality standpoint.

In my opinion, snap on, snap off rules. I have had three snap covers on three boats and will never have a boat without em. Easy access. That's why I have snaps on my shirt and pants and unmentionaables too.

I agree with Bitzco, I just go tmy first snap on and I was a little worried about those sanpsa ll over the boat.  I can honestly say I never notice them, and to have the covers on without worrying about damaging fiberglass or anything, it is great.  I would do it first thing again on any new boat.  If someone says they look ugly, then I say, so are you.  You really can't notice.

Tenn-

I was in Ski Masters (Seattle) yesterday and they said they had Toyota covers. Might be worth a call.

I'll prob give them a shout sometime this next week... They running any deals on them?  I keep hearing snap on is the way to go...  Guess I'll Add one of those to the wish list... Along with some new interior, a couple subs, some tower speakers and another another amp...   Alright this is alittle off the topic but I was reading some tread about batteries (wakeworld)-  What is the point of having 8 optima marine batteries on one boat... I have one and it does fine... some of those guys are crazy-

I bought a factory Epic 22 cover (no tower) for $400 shipping included from Skimasters in the spring.

Bitzy sold me an SX cover, it fits on my Epic 22. It has cutouts for the tower legs, no bat wings. It is a factory cover. THe back tower legs are not quite in the right place, but that could be fixed easily. It fits nonetheless. I don't know how the batwings would work since the tower is a little different, but the basic cover works fine.
