epicmarine.com decals on a Supra.
« on: August 29, 2006, 15:40:07 pm »
Well, it is official.  I am no longer an Epic owner.  Yes, it feels empty.  I am excited about my new ride but much poorer and quite frankly I don't have a place I can ask any question I want, no matter how crazy or stupid, without the guy on the phone or counter saying:  you want to do what?  just bring it in and I can take care of it for you.  Or, even worse, the guy just looks at you with a blank stare.

This site has been awesome.  Thanks for everybody's help.  The new owner got a good deal but so did I.  It was a fair transaction.  As usual, everybody who gets involved with one of these boats usually has a good experience.

As for epicmarine.com, I might end up missing it more than the boat.  No doubt in my mind that the reason my boat looked and operated the way it did is because of me using information and parts obtained from this website.  The new guy can speak for himself but I am highly doubtfull he would have bought my X-22 if he would not have been able to visit this site and become educated.

So here is my question.  Is is appropriate to put epicmarine.com decals on a 06' 24SSV Supra Gravity Games boat?

Does that mean it is politically correct?

Hey Extruop, how is the wake behind that supra??

I've been riding behind this 05 centurion cyclone lately, and I've been loving it.  The wake really curves upward to almost vertical at the top.   Kinda like a quarter pipe.  The pop is killer.  And its clean with almost no air in it.....you can actually see through the side of the wake a few inches, like glass.

I see all these supra's out on the lake, and they look really "deep dish" like they would have a good wake to 'em.

How is it?

I am headed to Lake Powell for Labor Day Weekend.  I will try to shoot some photos.  I feel a bit awkward posting stuff on this website.  I guess its no big deal.  I just feel a bit treasonous.

The wake is pretty hard to compare to the X-22.  It is larger at 17MPH with no ballast than the Epic with 1000 lbs. in the trunk and 480 lbs. in the walkway.  The shape is totally different at every speed.

It has two fat sacks in rear on both sides of the engine.  Plus a 1500 lb. bag in the middle from the driver to the bow.  With all the ballast full, the wake is enormous.  The trim plate works nicely to shape things.  Surfing is unbelievable.  You can move as far as 15 to 18 feet behind the boat. Make a few aggressive turns and come all the way back to the platform.  It is really cool and for right now making me feel pretty good about the decision.  But I have only been out on the boat twice for a total of about 8 hours.

I have not skied yet.  It will no doubt suck.  The Supra guys try to say its really soft up over 30MPH.  I will believe it when I see it.

The fuel and skiing are going to be big disadvantages (This pig has the 8.1L Indmar 450HP).  The price is still a bit of a shock (I still cant believe I forked out that kind of jack for a boat).  I am hoping everything else will be a plus.  Only time will tell.  What does Festivus think of his change?  I could not afford the big Malibu or the Mastercrafts.  I went with what I thought was pretty close, but you usually get what you pay for.  That is unless you buy a Epic.  I loved my X-22.  I thought it was an unrivaled value.

I am broke.
