lifting an epic
« on: September 16, 2006, 22:53:57 pm »
It it the end for me, the threat of snow is here and I want to get my boat put away for the winter. I have a lot of trailer problem so I want to lift my X22 off my trailer and store the boat for the winter, giving me a few months to do some modifications on the trailer. My question is can I lift off of the hook in front and the two hooks in the back. Or do I have to sling the boat from underneath. If someone knows what is the best way of doing this it would be great.

The bow eye and lift eye on the deck and 2 transom can lift your boat.

Maybe don't need to say this, but be sure to lower it back onto some hull supports as opposed to leaving it hanging all winter, even if you just take some of the weight off of the lifting eyes and leave it semi-suspended - then it can't fall off the supports either.

Don't pick up that Mastercraft with the same transom eyes! The'yll break. Look hard in the trunk of a MC for some sheotty fiberglass work. Says so on little stickers on the transom! Hey, do they have those stickers on at the boat show?

Lifetime hull warrantee, maybe Toyota'll make a new mold for yours if something should happen from lifting. Hey, check the brochure pics, all the pics show them hanging from 50K docks.

I say lift away.
