Concidering buying 2002 X22
« on: September 26, 2006, 19:09:04 pm »
I am concidering trading in my 1995 ski nautique for a 2002 toyota epic x22. I have had previous boat problems with my nautique because it has protec fuel injection and i want a boat that will be really reliable. I am aware that the gauges on these boats have their problems, but besides that is there any other downfalls. The epic i am looking at has 130 hours on it. For most trouble free operation, am i best off with the epic or sticking with a newer nautique/ mastercraft etc? We currently own a 1993 toyota landcruiser with 125k miles and a 2003 toyota avalon with 60k miles and they have been great. That is why I am concidering the epic, but do the epic engines use most of the same componens as the engines in the newer lexuses? Thanks for your imput.

Whatever you do, don't buy a Toyota. Oh, wait, I've owned three of them.
03 Pilot, 01 Epic SX, 330 cc bombers and 4 kids in back. Working to retire to a lakeside cottage with my own boat dock.

Super reliable, gauge problems can be fixed and, incidentally, the same gauges used on MC, Malibu, Supras of the same vintage. Same problems on those boats, all can be fixed with power and ground, and keeping the computer and connections dry.

Super cheap to run, engines are very reliable and have very few parts that are not auto or general purpose marine as used on other boats. The engines need good fuel and good plugs, and they go forever. My boat has 766 hrs and runs like new, same fuel economy as the day I bought it.

TONS MORE BOAT than anything in the same pricerange.
