Done for the season
« on: October 06, 2006, 21:09:14 pm »
Well I guess I've got some bad luck.  It's been 2 years since my last ankle surgery from a broken left ankle... On Saturday I broke it again on a healside frontside 360 gone wrong.  I have surgery on monday to have 2 screws installed to screw the ankle bone back to the tibia.  I think I will have to switch to the air chair after this operation.  Everyone stay safe.

Brent,  Thought I was going to read about you taking your boat out for the winter. Sh!++y way to end the year. Hope you've at least got a lot of Demerol for the weekend. Wish you all the best on a quick recovery and I believe you've got the fortitude to bring it back. We'll be looking for new pics next summer.

Ouch! Sorry to hear it. I've got a big screw (heh, heh) and a bunch of plates holding my foot on too. Mine was a mountian biking crash. It took a year before I could walk right. Good luck with it and enjoy the painkillers. As for me, I'm going to get in one more freezing cold weekend on the boat so I can perfect my Sky Ski skills. Actually that just means I'm going to try and learn how to stay up for more than ten seconds on the dang diddily ang thing. Again, good luck with the surgery.

brent- good luck with everything.  Sorry to hear about your ankle.  You'll like sky skiing just as much, it truly doesn't hurt as bad and you can get a lot higher.  (altitude-wise)
The boat doing well?  Just think of the hours you will save her.

Thanks guys, ya I wish I was just early winterizing it.  Jamin, the boat is doing great, I've just had one problem with it and that is the digital gauge has been acting up and also the down arrow button on the gauge doesn't work.  I wish I new if I needed a new guage or a new computer or just have a loose wire.  Since the down arrow doesn't work I'm thinking the guage needs repaired or replaced.  I love the wake that she throws and how nice it drives.  And the stereo too.  I did some adjusting on the amp and that thing will crank out some tunes!  I have the new pumps for the auto ballast system and it looks like I'll have some time on my hands to install it now.  I'm thinking of trading in the 2 vdrive sacks for a fat seat and putting it in the trunk and let the arms extend into the vdrive lockers so that I can have a full 1500 lbs back there just by filling up one sack :)  That will ROCK. Of course not that I need that big of a wake since I will be taking it easier from now on my ankle from now on as I do want to walk unassisted when I'm forty.

I actually got hurt behind the new 07 tige rz2.  I better just stick on my boat from now on.  A friend of mine got to ride behind the new epic 2 weeks ago and broke his foot casing the wake. There is a Epic dealer opening here in DFW and he is demoing the boat with all the local riders.  btw, it is the biggest wake I have ever seen, too big for me but obviously i don't need to go bigger.

Thanks again guys and if you want to come down for some lessons before it gets colder just let me know.  I'd be very happy to.  An your welcome to stay here at my house if you don't mind staying up late and sleeping in late.

Brent- thanks for the offer.  I'd love to get some schooling, it won't happen this fall, but I'll letcha know next time I am in the area.  Glad the boat is running good, aside from the computer button.  We looked at the RZ2 while we were at Ozarks a few weekends ago.  It was nice, I liked the new Nautique 236 better.  They had one of the demo/spec boats there, new for 07.  Maybe it was a 24footer.  Pretty happy with my 247 though, it is hands down the roomiest thing out there.  She ran great all summer, 107hrs.  I am pulling her into the dealer this afternoon (on my way to the Ravens/Broncos game) for the winterization. Snow is in the forecast this week, so good timing for once.
