I'm going to send off my custom ballast request to Fly High tomorrow.  I took all measurements and figure the optimum size back there is 60x15x24".  By my calculation, I think it'll be right around 850 lbs back there -- up about 300 from stock.  I don't like the hard-tank option because when we get the boat packed with people (which we do frequently), I really need the storage space.  But when the boat's not packed, I need more weight.  But you can only offer your friends so much bacon and PBR before they realize that there is an alterior motive...

You can get the new style fittings put in that bag, they probably have some hose barb fittings so you can convert your hoses. They are much less leak-prone than waterbed fittings!

The black and red quick connect fittings are nice, like on most of the new boats. They come small enough that they will probably fit your factory hose. I think it is 3/4 but I'm not sure.

Just got off the phone with Fly High -- $250 for the custom sack I wanted.  It's ordered and should be here next week.  Dimensions are 60x24x15, and should hold about 850 lbs and almost completely fill the trunk except for about 6" on the top and sides.  They are going to integrate their quick-connect valves into the sack, but include all the adapters needed to match-up their system to our very simple stock system and 1" elbow-fittings.  I told them there may be others that will want the same thing I ordered.  If so, drop me a PM/email and I'll tell you how to reference it!

Cal, that is awesome. You are going to like your boat with that much weight in it. Put a 750 in the walk through, 3-4 people, perfect. It's a lot bigger wake than the SX with stock ballast. I'll miss that about my D Drive boat. I just got done cleaning the crap out of it, bilge and everything.

I love the X22 wake.  I usually run with as many people as I can find and do fine for weight, but I'd like to have the option of a bigger wake on the less-crowded days.  Regardless, I've decided I like the X22 ass-heavy, and I just move people to the bow if needed.  Hopefully this won't be too much weight in the back, but I don't think it will be.  I'll report back as soon as I can try it out -- hopefully in a month or so.
