Service Issues
« on: December 12, 2003, 21:49:45 pm »
Where would anyone suggest that I get an Epic serviced in a remote area that may not have had a Epic Dealer when they were being sold?  Is a Lexus dealer qualified to work on the motor?  I am a diehard toyota fan and would love to have an Epic to pull behind my LC, but am scared that I'll be stuck if I need maintenance.  Most of my water time will be in Upper WI or around St. Louis.

Great site, awsome information.

I actually get my Epic serviced in St. Louis.  There is a former Toyota Marine dealer there, Port Arrowhead Marina.  The numbers on the business card I have might be outdated because I think they moved locations, so you may want to do a search, but what I have is 636-899-1123 or 800-600-2628.  The name of the service manager is Dan Cross.  Hope this info helps.

Thanks for the info., I'll contact them and see if they still service the boats.

It's a Toy, which means you don't need service, right? Just kidding.

Seems like most of the stuff (other than the engine) can be serviced by any inboard dealer. The engine will be a different story.

I know a few people who will be driving these boats for quite a few years. We're gonna have a lot of info to work with; surely enough to present to a Lexus tech looking for some side work.

No Tworries----

Ps. We're still working on the current Toyota Marine left coast guy to get spun-off when Toyota decides to close the doors.

We should definitely put together a list of known good Toyota service people whether they are dealers or individuals. I would recommend purchasing the 1UZ service manual. You can get parts/advice from my dealer, Atlanta Marine. They sold lots of Toyotas and service is great. I have heard from Atlantabuff that there is a good guy on the east side of ATL as well.  See the howto page for a link to my dealers email.

Send me emails with details on good service guys and I'll post them, put links up if they want the business.
