I need the one for my 2001 S22 but there are several in the TMS Parts and it doesn't say for which model.

MCNT000154 Cable,Steering,18ft,SS 16  10  $107.08  $15.00

remove cable from head. verify the inside coil is bad vs the head unit.

The boat is harder to turn than it used to be and has some "sticky" spots in the steering.  i'm thinking cable but how would i tell if it's the head unit?

Make sure the pivot thingy for the rudder is lubed up good.  I thought I needed a cable as well but after I crawled into the trunk with a grease gun, all is well.

Me too, Lube it up good where the cable connects to the rudder and all will probably be well.
