Toyota for Sale on eBay

I have been watching and Toyota boats are a bit rare at the moment...not many of them out there for sale... recent ones that were available seem to have found new homes... however here is one on eBay... looks like it might be kind of nice. I don't recognize the boat... Any of you know this one?

I haven't seen that one - but i noticed alot are popping up on ebay the past few weeks?   Are they meeting the reserve and selling?  Anyone keeping up with the prices they are selling for?

The interesting thing is that on ebay it is listed as being in Indiana.  On boattraderonline.com it is listed as being in CA.  HMMM....something doesn't add up here unless there was a quick move.

Plus the boat is registered in Michigan. Notice the MC at the front of the tag number.

If you look at the license plate on the boat trailer easily seen in one of the photos in the eBay advertisement, it looks as if there is an Indiana license plate on the boat.   Perhaps Indiana is the real location of the boat ?

It is also interesting to note that the starting bid on the eBay add for this boat is $21,000.00 (reasonable price based upon the pictures and description), while the boattrader add which has pictures of the same boat, and the same boat description, has an asking price of $10,000.00 which would appear to be a steal on a boat like this.

Something doesn't appear to be right !

About the boat: it is in immaculate condition and has no scratch on and hasn't been involved in any accident. The engine runs very well. The boat was always garaged and rarely used. The boat is in showroom condition. The title is clear; it is not a salvage one. I have legal document by which I can transfer the title to your name. The trailer is included in the price. I will support all the shipping fees. The delivery will take within 5 to 7 working days (with insurance and 30 days return policy). The service has frequent shared container services. It will be insured at the delivery service. If something happens on the road, you will receive the insurance from the delivery service. As soon as the boat arrives, you will test and if it does not matches 100% to your expectations, you will return it in max. 30 days since the arrival date.

I would tell him that you would rather pick it up in person and drive it home yourself.  Let him know that you are willing to get it this weekend and ask him to send you his name, address, and phone number, so you can get in touch with him when you get there. 

My guess is that this guy isn't even in the country.  They set-up these scams with pictures they find on the web and then wait for someone to bite.  I think they have a way of taking payment and then closing their accounts before the sipment arrives.  Leaving the buyer...up the creek.  Either way, it's a shame, because that is a great looking boat.

Dude...be cautious.  I totally agree with Ktown.  Don't put anything down on the boat.  If it seems to good to be true...it probably is.  If you really want it, carry the $ yourself to the guy and be sure you see the boat in person.  Good luck.

There are a lot of scammers out there. I'd try to contact him by phone and then go there to look at the boat if he's legit. I wouldn't buy it sight unseen.

If the boat is truly in Noblesville IN and if you are truly interested I would go look at the boat for you. I am about 3 hours from Noblesvile.

I would echo the remarks of the other guys only with even more CAUTION..I saw these same pictures listed for this boat several weeks ago as well for 20k on ebay. This is somebody phishing for your money who has stolen the pistures and trying to get something. Either they are going to use your email address to steal or they are going to SPAM the heck out of you. If I were you I would stay away from that one...I saw this same ad the other day as well for 10k and I was at first amazed, then immediately realized that it was a scam. there is no way the location and the price could change so dramatically and quickly. Don't send a DIME !!! it is almost not even worth the phone call it is so fishy...I have been loking at and buying fairly high priced items on the internet for several years (cars, boats, etc.) and the ones that appear to good to be true ARE always a mess...

I just looked at that again. It is on Boattrader so that measn they had to pay for the ad and pay quite a bit...I am so curious now I am thinking about calling just to see why the price is what it is??? You know what I mean? It can't be that price? Don't send money...still my final word on it

I called the number earlier this week... it is a fax number. So I sent a fax asking them to phone me... they did. It is a real estate office and they have no one there selling a boat. They had not received any other such faxes. I also emailed BoatTrader and they said they took the site down as a result of my email to them... you can still get to the link if you click on it, but you can no longer find the boat doing a search on their site.

I also received the very same email promising me the boat is reserved for me... bogus. They are not going to deliver the boat for free anywhere in the states... that could cost $3K - $5K ... and then offer to pay for shipping home if I am not satisfied? Not a chance. I don't know how they rip you off, but they will. When you ask to go see it, there will no doubt be a reason you can't. The advice on the site it good... ask to go and see it and this will come to a crashing end I believe. I hope no one gets stung... and I wish they could find this guy.

Mason,  forward me the email and I can tell where it was sent from. If it's on boat trader, why would he say ebay would be contacting you? 

I'd play along and send a bogus address in info and see what the reply is.
