A little follow up on this. Curiosity got the best of me and I sent a message to the seller on ebay using the ebay messaging system asking if the boat had been sold. He replied very quickly with a note that it has not sold and to call for info and that he was a private seller. I won't post the number here but it was a 317 area code, which is an indianapolis area code. (if anyone is interested in calling him, send me a private note)

OK, good, so far so good. So, i replied to him describing how someone is also trying to sell his boat on boat trader for $10,000 and that it has casued quite a stir on this website. I encouraged him to visit this thread and set the record straight about the boat for sale also indicating that there are many potential buyers on this site and it would be worth his while to check it out. The reply email address he gave bounced, so I sent it through ebay messaging, so I know he got it.

This was early last week and have not heard back from him.

Seems to me if it was legit and he really wanted to sell it he would jump all over this and set the record straight.

Or, maybe he is out of town and has not checked ebay.

Hey Guys,
I haven't been on this site for a while, this topic caught my eye and prompted me to add some comments.
This whole thing is a total scam and is a strategy used by scammers selling on the internet.
My experience was with a Malibu wakesetter on EBay for a price too good to be true...is was. Thankfully I caught on to the seller before money changed hands. The seller was using a bogus "secure EBay" to make people believe the deal was legit. The seller would not answer my many questions about the boat but always assured me that the commercial transaction would be secure. I didn't get stung on this, however, I have heard of people losing some significant dollars.

These are people that don't want to earn an honest living, but lie, steal, and cheat. They deserve an old fashioned ___ kicking.

Don't waste anymore of your time on this.
