I will most likely regret this....Selling my X-22:(
« on: September 23, 2008, 06:19:40 am »
Well my fellow Epic owners...the time for me to part ways with my prized possession might be right around the corner.   I sense a military move coming in the next 5-7 months, and will most likely list my X-22 for.....ugh....sale :(   I wanted to get an idea of any potential buyers through our site, before I list it in my local area or onlyinboards.  I have attached a pseudo-"for sale" sign to this post, as well as a rough-draft upgrades/extras list (not all inclusive).  I truly believe this boat has to rank as one of the nicer X-22's around.  Let me know what you think.  Thanks folks. flyn2001

Hello everyone.  Well Spring time is here, so I figured I might as well list my EPIC X-22 for sale again.  Currently it is still winterized and stored indoors.  Here is the info (updated versions).  This really is a very nice X-22.  Here is the Hull ID (already registered on the website) TMMC0123H001.  I have pretty much spared NO expense on upgrading/replacing items to keep it's luster/unique characteristics (trust me, my wife & Ktown can attest to this "bad" habit of mine).  I have attached a list of mods/upgrades/replacements for your viewing pleasures.  I know i'm not telling any of you current EPIC owners anything new, but for others reading this, these boats are SO neat.  I have yet to take the boat out without getting curious bystander type questions at the gas station or lake.  This boat has NEVER let me down, infact, I have actually towed a MC and Malibu (friends) to shore.  I'm looking at a military move this summer time, which is kind of forcing me to sell my Epic.  Well, hope everyone is doing well and getting ready to hit their respective lakes soon.  See ya. Clint.

Thanks Cyclone.  It has been awesome chatting and exchanging knowledge/tips/etc. with all of you guys over the last couple of years.  I can't say I will be sad if my boat DOES NOT sell right away ;)  If it takes a little while, I guess I will just have to de-winterize and hit the lake (every weekend) while I still live in Del Rio, just to make sure everything is "o.k." :D  Anyhow, thanks for the offer for the pull.  I will definitely take you up on it if I find myself in your area!  I have to say that you are a real generous member to this community and we are lucky to have a friend like you here always contributing and willing to help us out (regardless of the problem).  Thanks again.

Took the boat out to the lake to break it in for the season.  Hooked up the battery, dropped her in the water, and off we went.  Runs like a dream!  Kind of a funny story, but this friend of mine at work (younger kid) has an older Malibu.  He has been telling me for like a 1.5 months how cool his new "Wet Sounds" speakers are.  I saw him on the lake and we got to BS'ing.  I asked him to crank the ol' tunes and let me check them out.  Nice speakers, but man were they distorting.  I almost felt bad for them, I thought they were on the verge of blowing up.  Nice guy, but I think he needs some stereo "mentoring".

Anyhow, I let the Epic warm up completely before I left the dock, just to be safe.  After it warmed up, I turned on the PP and cruised at about 18mph for a while (Amistad was GLASS today).  I decided to do some large S turns, mostly to make my kids laugh.  Then it was boarding time!  DANG...that water was still cold!!  I'm glad the boat was running like a champ, because I felt like I was boarding like a newborn calf today (probably because I was afraid to fall into the ice-water).  Anyhow, a great way to spend a 95 degree day none-the-less!!  See ya. flyn2001.

Hi there,

Would you be willing to help out with transport at all?  We are interested in the boat but Texas is a more than a small drive from Canada.

Thanks,
Dustin

Dustin,

Check a website called U-Ship.com.  That was what I used when I bought my boat a few years back.  You can list the item and people will bid on your business.  It worked really well for me.  Clint.

Both this Epic & Uship is awesome...  My experience: I paid $500 from Salt Lake City to Nashville for 2 jetskis from a licensed/bonded boat hauler coming back "empty."  He had to go out of his way a bit but 500 bucks paid for his gas and he made extra money he wasn't expecting.  I haven't used uship in a while but most of the people on there are looking for extra money so it is a great site.

I have a 2000 EPIC X-22 Gravity Games Wakeboard Edition and it isn't as nice as this one and it always gets stares and questions on the lakes in Tennessee.
Boating is more then a passion- is a lifestyle.

Thanks tenn162000, although i'm guessing your Epic is just as nice as mine!  If I were a bet'n man, I would go "all-in" on the notion that the majority of us Epic owners are naturally very "meticulous" people.  If we were not, there wouldn't be as many nice Epics left as there are!

On a side note, does anybody know if they ever made a Toyota Epic commercial?  Just wondering.

Pretty interesting site... I set up an "ad" for shipping your boat and have two offers already...

How soon are you looking to sell?

Flyn,

I can't believe your really are selling!  I sure hope you buy a really nice house (maybe near me).  If anyone needs a reference for this boat, I would be more than happy to tell you all about it.  Flyn is definitely meticulous and this boat is in unbelievable condition.  I would compare it to a 1 or 2 year old boat (with some extra bling).  He is also just as meticulous with regular maintenance (I was probably there for most of it) and the stereo system.  He has spent countless hours making everything just right.  If you have a chance to see this boat, you won't leave without it.  If you are considering buying it sight unseen, don't worry, you will be very happy with the condition of the boat.  Clint, good luck on the sale, maybe you will get a few more pulls in soon and change your mind

Ktown,  thanks for the good words.  I don't think I can afford a house in your neighborhood, i'm not pulling down that 5 yr booster like some folks!!  But i'm sure it won't be too far down the road!!  Not sure when I will move either, I have to talk to this guy who works my assignments...hmmm...maybe this Friday over WINGS!!

Offaxis82...As far as a timeline for selling the boat, i'm really in no hurry!  Every weekend it does not sell is another 95 degree weekend i'm stuck having to wakeboard on Lake Amistad with family and friends....DARN!!  However, I feel it is priced right and i'm willing to seperate with her tomorrow to a new loving owner!!  I am planning to take it down in the next week or two to our local boat/trailer place and have them service the trailer though (routine maintenance stuff).  Trailer maintenance is pretty much the one thing I just don't want, or know how, to do myself.  Obviously KTown has seen / riden / driven / pulled / been pulled behind this boat, as well as a couple other folks on this site (i think they all live in Texas).  I will be out of town this weekend, but I plan to take some more photos, and possibly some video (post on youtube maybe??) for others to see it.  I know it is quite far, but you are always more than welcome to come check it out, drive it, pull, be pulled, whatever!!  If not, hopefully I can get you some good pics/video.  v/r flyn2001.
