Wow, nice catch on the size, about 10" short each way.  If they make a small and a medium, why not a large?  I will call them in am and ask.

I called up Great Lakes Boat and actually got the marketing and product manager on the phone.  She said they didn't see a market for the Large style Shade N' Store so they never made one but I told her about the rare epics and she said she would get with the design engineers and see what they could come up with.  I emailed the sides I (we) were interested in so maybe I will hear something back in a couple days - I'll keep you posted.

How many people are interested in a trampoline style replacement group buy?

I'm interested if the top is closer to the size of the original Epic factory tramp top.

Bullet,

If there is a huge price difference between the Shade N' Store & the BigAir tops.  I will be interested in getting in on the group buy with you for the BigAir Bimini.  It's a nice / simple top.  We're still waiting on Tenn's post from his contact with Great Lakes Boat but my guess is that the Shade N' Store will be a few hundred $$$$ more. ???

Gonna go ahead and take the measurements on the Toyota factory tower as directed on the BigAir website http://www.bigairpylons.com/TowerBimini.htm just in case the Shade N' Store top is too pricey for me.

Has anyone else measured the factory tower for the BigAir Bimini?  I'd like to check my work:

X Measurement : ? inches
Y Measurement : ? inches
Z Measurement : ? inches
CF Measurement : ? inches
CR Measurement : ? inches

It would be a 3 hour drive for me, but probably worth it.  I would not want to commit an overnight to it though.  I could Probably get there by 8 am one day but would need to leave by 5pm.  I think their top has a lot of promise.  It is impressive that they are willing to do custom work for a small group of boats that they don't make anymore. It says a lot about the company.  They are not far from New Dimension Towers in Marysville.  I took Wrecks E21 there for the custom tower and I still think its the best looking non-Toyota tower out there.  Maybe Wayne from New Dimension will send someone up to Knoxville to get measurements for the S22 hull so he can build towers for the S22 folks who need one.

Let me know who your contact is and I will call them and see if it all can be done in a day.  It would be a long day of boat hauling.  Six hours of driving and not even getting in a lake!  Do we have any members in Knoxville with a factory tower???

I felt my ears burning so I read this thread even though I am as happy as I can be with my tower you got and the bimini I bought from Tower Bimini a few years back. Actually I read all threads....

Bill, you would be perfect for this assignment. Your passion for the boats and eye for style would make you the ideal rep. If folks here knew your personal involvment in getting our E21's tower designed and made, they would know that if you feel the design and price on the top being considered is good - they can buy with confidence. (hehehe - no pressure) Face it, you are itching to go so you will know it is done right.....

Hey, I am thinking of going to the lake tomorrow to de-winterize the boats with the idea of going out on Saturday. Come on out and play. Same goes for the rest of the gang. Weather supposed to be in mid 80's and the lake just got within 5 ft of full pool. Hard to imagine since it was down 22.5 ft in December. It was unbelievably depressing when I dropped in over Thanksgiving - felt like I was at the bottom of the Grand Canyon. When we first got the place, I thought it looked like crud when the lake was down 5 ft. Last week I went by and thought it looked SWEEEET.
Don't be so humble, you're not that great.

Not trying to create an issue here but would be remiss not to mention that I saw Wayne at the Atlanta Boat Show a few years back. He said he was considering tooling up to make tops - can't remember if he was going to do biminis or tramps. Probably biminis since he sent me to look at the tops a boat exhibitor had on their boats that led me to Tower Biminis. Might be worth a call to find out-
