so the last of the cushions (including the vdrive cover doors) are at the shop getting recovered. Anyone else had to recover all the seat cushions or is it just me since the last owner had 6 kids and the climate was cold (Denver). My "Texas it's whole life" X22 had an interior that was like new when I sold it.

That brings up another point. Do southern boats last longer than northern boats or vise versa.

Just bored rambling lol.

I have done the drivers seat and the passenger seat in the 99 Epic 21. I may have to do the back locker in 2011. It is starting to show its age and 1,200 hours, but other than that the rest looks showroom new. I live in cold NW Ohio. Just 303 Protectant and keeping the boat out of the sun when NOT in use is all I do.

99' E-22, Just passengers side rear seat......A lot of step downs from the back deck. I purchased a back up about 2001 when the seams were splitting a little on the original. 505 hours. As for the ? about southern vs. northern boats and wear, We keep the boat inside the warehouse when not in use. 60 degrees at the coldest during the winter. Before our ownership of a boat a friend & I put 125 hours on a mastercraft one summer, then he stored it in a non heated building for the winter. In the spring we noticed that the upholstery and rubberhoses showed some degrading. One more time at the lake for us before shutting it down. It is a great excuse to get a ski in due to having to put stabil in the tank. Have a great Thanksgiving.

The previous owner's shop it was stored in Denver was non heated I believe so that is probably the reason. That and six kids wearing shoes. I've seen the pics Jamin  ::)

No shoes in my boat!

no shoe rule here aswell. but, the az sun can eat up a boat cover real real quick outside. done better with no cover and cushions look so much better. the covers would leave some crud behind from rain what lil we have and the wind made covers rub on top rail. it was harder to clean after the cover was on then off. just use lots of protectant now.

Did you get the original skins or try to match? My back deck and back seats will be redone this winter.

I bought original material here on this site. Not the skins but a large roll of each color.

I need to have all three of my rear seat cushions redone. The material is shredded at the seams. Might see about having a double stitch done. I also need repairs around the rear trunk latch, as the vinyl has worked its self lose and is no longer pinched tight by the latch. Bow seats and passenger bench are like new. I know that one cold mornings the vinyl is much more stiff and I cringe when people step on them, because you can almost see them cracking before your eyes. Stupid Washington weather.

I just scheduled my boat to get re done in 2 weeks.  finally had to bite the bullet and just get it all done.  I was only going to do a few pieces but then it wont match and I'm ready for it to look new again. Can't wait!

I tried to post the after pics on here but wasn't able to, so I uploaded them to the boat pics section.  I don't have a before pic but it was pretty bad to say the least.  All the stitching was torn and they looked horrible.   I used a darker grey which is hot but used less of it.  While keeping most of the original lines, I made the grey section on the back hatch slimmer and didn't go across the trunk.  on the seats I took the grey out and used a black coping on white to make it pop but not be so hot and only put the grey on the seat backs.  Let me know what you think.

The place I used is in Llano, Tx and was very reasonable.  www.thelakescustomupholstery.com  if you want to check them out.
