Checking Transmission Fluid
« on: July 11, 2011, 16:25:02 pm »
I changed all of the fluids on my SX on the weekend.. Everything went well, except I was only able to suck around 1.2 quarts out of the transmission. I replaced it with about 1.2... But I want to make sure its full. I haven't been able to find any definitive answer on what the proper procedure is for checking the fluid level.. Does anyone have any ideas?

Does anyone have any input on this? Is there any kind of dummy light or warning that will go off if there is not enough fluid? What are the signs of it being over full or under full?

I'm wondering if I shouldn't add another 1/4 - 1/2 quart just to be safe?

start and run for 5 minutes. shut off and immediatly check the dipstick, should be between the two lines, do not screw it in, just set it on top of the threads
